Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” Debuts at #1, Breaks Second Spotify Record

Justin Bieber’s comeback is a fact. After  set a new Spotify record for most streams of a single song over the span of five days with 21 millions streams of “What Do You Mean?”, the singer topped Billboard’s Hot 100 with the very same song.

The track is the first for Bieber to reign supreme on the chart and just the 23rd entry to ever begin at #1 in the Hot 100’s 57-year history. The song dethroned The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” which peaked at the pole position for a second non-consecutive time last week.

As well, “What Do You Mean?” broke a second Spotify record – the Weekly Global Spotify streaming record with over 41 million streams worldwide. The track has sold over 335,000 digital units in the U.S. in its first week out.

JB commemorated the great success by recording an Instagram video in which he thanks his fans: “Looks like we did it. I wanna say we did it again, but it’s my first No. 1, so thank you guys. You guys are the best.” His previous best was 2012’s “Boyfriend,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100.

As well, The Biebs kept his promise and treated his fans to an acoustic version of his current hit. Check it out below and watch out for his fourth solo album, set for a November 13th drop.
