ENTERTAINMENT NEWS: The White House Responds to Kanye West’s Presidency Bid

The 2015 MTV VMAs offered a few surprises, but there is only moment which has the potential to become part of your #TBT series a decade later. We are referring to Kanye West’s unexpected bid for presidency in 2020 during his “Video Vanguard Award” acceptance speech.

While it is unclear whether the rapper was playing around or he really plans on running for POTUS, the White House has responded to his announcement. In a brief statement, Press Secretary Josh Earnest, who was traveling aboard Air Force One with President Barack Obama at that time, said he looks “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.” Was that a subliminal shot at Donald Trump?

Anyway, we’ll have to wait for almost 4 years before figuring out if Kanye will make an attempt to get in the Oval Office. In the meantime, there’s a rumor he might receive an offer to host the 2016 MTV VMAs.

In the meantime, the Democratic Party also responded to the bid. Taking to their official Twitter account, the Democrats wrote, “Last night @kanyewest declared his candidacy for president in 2020. Welcome to the race, Mr. West. Glad to have you.”
