It’s hard to believe it but the countdown to InspiredbyGlory’s third Redefining Event has began, and it’s all happened in under a year! We started in November 2014 with Redefining Beauty, then in April of this year we plugged in the financial literacy gap with #RedefiningFinance and now we are pursuing passion and purpose in #RedefiningCareer!
Our
Redefining Event mantra is all about expanding the narrative. Providing
a platform where we can learn, share and then go forth and conquer.
It’s about empowering women for self actualisation and personal success
and the Redefining Career event will be no different.
“Trust not what inspires other members of society to choose a career. Trust what inspires you“– The Lazy Person’s Guide to Success.
In
today’s Nigerian job market, parental pressure, a pay check and job
availability have been some of the motivating factors for choosing a
career. For many, choosing a career is seen as a luxury, its about
finding a job that pays the bills. The result? Low employee motivation,
lack lustre on the job performance, high levels of stress, low personal
development and job productivity and lack of fulfilment.
The Redefining Career
event aims to challenge the barriers and myths to choosing careers
which are focused on passion, purpose or interest. It will also empower
women with the tools for taking ownership of their career development
and the steps for making the transition into fulfilling careers. By
showcasing women who are working in the areas of their passion, the
event will aim to answer the following questions…How do I build a career
around my passion? How do I make the transition into a career I love?
How can I build a successful career? How can I take ownership of my
career and its development? How do I monetize my passion? How can I
improve myself in my current career? And many more…
Are
you looking to develop your career or are you seeking to transition
into area you are passionate about, but don’t know how? Then this is the
event for you.
As always our guest
line up includes women who are not just talking the talk but living it.
Women who are known in their chosen fields and are willing to share with
us their life’s lessons.
The Redefining Career event will begin with a Master Class with the renowned media expert that is Biola Alabi, former Managing Director of M-Net Africa
and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader who was also recently
named as one of the 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa by Forbes Africa.
A panel discussion session facilitated by Wana Udobang of Inspiration FM featuring CSR Executive Chioma Okolie, Award Winning Poet, Writer and Actress, Titilope Sonuga and Founder of Olori Cosmetics and FMCG Senior Executive, Toyin Odulate
will provide practical insights into the steps, myths, challenges and
knowledge requirements for building a career you are passionate
about. To top it all off, Esther Eshiet founder of the After School Centre for Career Development will facilitate a workshop on the difference between a job and a career.
You definitely do not want to miss out!
