Just last year, Meek
Mill ranted about Wale not tweeting out a link to his then-upcoming
album Dreams Worth More Than Money, writing on the social media website,
“Wale just ain’t gone tweet a thing about my album.... He’s been hating
on me long time now ...don’t even text me cornball! #UNOTMMG.” Both
later reconciled, but Meek’s beef with Drake became the reason the two
MMG members just reignited the tension between them.
Sitting down with The Breakfast Club, Wale weighed in on the situation
and suggested Mill was not prepared for such feud. He also compare Meek
feuding with Drake to the Philly lyricist bringing “a pencil to a gun
fight.”
I just feel like, and this is me speaking as someone who has been in the industry for a long time, I honestly feel like [Meek] brought a pencil to a gun fight…You can’t compete with somebody who has those types of relationship,” Wale said. “I’m telling everyone who thought Meek lost just off the strength of losing, it doesn’t matter what he made, he could have made ‘Ether 3.0’, the opinions of the people would have been that of the kid from Toronto waxed him. Drake went to Apple and my man went to Funk Flex–and there’s nothing wrong with Flex–but we talking about Apple, breh. They heard Drake’s joints all around the world.”
Wale also elaborated on the status of Maybach Music Group and admitted
they are no longer the label they once were, but that’s fine with him.
We’re not the unit we once was,” he said. “I’m not gonna lie to you. It doesn’t mean we’re not cool, but every one has gotta do what they gotta do…There’s people that Meek Mill hangs out with a lot that he knows I don’t bang with. And that’s fine, I don’t ask nobody to get in my beefs, it’s not a problem, it’s rap, there’s no bloodshed going on out here.”
In addition, Wale admitted he has been trying to reach out to Meek
recently, but the latter blocked his attempts. He believes Mill might be
mad at him, because he took a photo with Drake while their beef was
still active.

Naturally, Meek wasn’t feeling Wale’s comments and took to Instagram to voice his dissatisfaction. Once again, he banished the DC native from MMG and told him to “go jump off a roof.” He also suggested Wale was plotting against the MMG head honcho Rick Ross, because he is broke.
