Ahead of AKA’s appearance on MTV Base (channel 322 on DStv) on Friday (2
November) Cassper Nyovest has dropped a new diss track responding to
AKA’s “Composure” which was leaked by DJ Milkshake weeks prior.
“Composure” was loaded with shots predominantly aimed at Cassper
Nyovest.
Cassper Nyovest’s song “Dust 2 Dust” recounts many of the recent media reports on AKA (real name Kiernan Forbes) including his split from long-time girlfriend and baby mama DJ Zinhle, rumours of an affair with TV and radio presenter Bonang Matheba as well as a club incident where Cassper Nyovest was slapped by AKA. In one line Cassper summarises his intention with the five-and-a-half-minute track saying, “You’re about to get schooled by a dropout.”

The
song opens with a verse which directly responds to a line in
“Composure” [All this talk about God, I’mma show you hell.] To this,
Cassper responds saying, “The first lesson of the day is never
disrespect God, that’s the reason you ni****s will never blow up.” He
continues, “ I always talk about God because he blessed me.”
And from here onwards, it’s no holds barred:
On his relationship with Cashtime - “I love my ni***s but I see they chose your side.”
On
taking his time to respond to composure – “Little man, I let you reign
for a week. You probably thought that you won I’m sure you couldn’t
believe.”
On the infamous club-slapping
incident – “You probably called all your boys like let’s go to the club,
then got mad cause all the DJs playing my songs.”
His
comments on DJ Zinhle’s split from AKA – “Zinhle left you in public –
and I don’t blame you sis, they say it’s nearly impossible to raise two
kids; when one lives in a movie and he just don’t wanna man-up.”
On AKA’s bromance with Da L.E.S – “First it was Khuli Chana, then it was L.E.S, I wonder who’s di** you gonna suck next.”
Cassper
also measures both of their success against each other – “You just
went gold but I did that sh** in three months and I did it all without a
Khuli Chana feature.”
In the song
Cassper also openly accuses AKA of having an out of control drug habit,
using other artists’ music without crediting them, not owning any of his
music – including his diss track, needing features to have hit singles
as well as using vernac rappers like Khuli Chana and JR to appeal to the
urban audience. He also calls out AKA on living in a house owned by
record label boss Oskido and accepting all of the deals (for less) that
Cassper turned down.
Finally, the rapper
also responds to AKA suggesting he reigns in Cassper’s hometown of
Mafikeng [“You’re tryna fill up the Dome, I’m tryna fill up your home.” –
AKA in “Composure”]. Cassper responds calling AKA a liar, adding, “I
know everything that happens in my hood.” He also dismisses AKA’s
relationship with friend and former manager Tibz saying, “Tibz is always
talking shit about you when you’re not there.”

As the two rappers continue to go back and forth it seems there’s no end in sight of their feud. In an interview with Sizwe Dhlomo for MTV Base, AKA takes viewers ‘Behind The Story’ to hear his side of this and other recent controversies.
