Drake reinvented The Weeknd’s Kanye West-produced single from
Beauty Behind The Madness,
“Tell Your Friends,” garnishing the track with a verse. The song was
premiered by OVO Sound co-founder Oliver El-Khatib on the fifth episode
of Beats 1’s OVOSOUND RADIO show.
Quite obviously, Drizzy serenades a special woman in his life in the
remix. Lines like “the ball is in your court” and “you’re too famous to
buy you purses” make it too easy to suggest he is speaking about Serena
Williams, with whom he was recently spotted
making out. However, users on KTT discovered information which reveals he is actually rapping about Rihanna.
Drake’s version of “Tell Your Friends” begins with the bars, “Live from
the Waldorf in Berlin / Coming at you once again / With stories of
truth and stories of sin.” According to
this Instagram video
from the rapper, he was in Berlin on February 28th, 2014. Chances are
this is not his last trip to the capital of Germany since then, but the
fact that he brought out
Kanye West during his tour stop in the city the night before might mean
he received the instrumental for the track right after the gig.
What is more, it is a well-known fact that Rihanna was basically following Drake during his
Would You Like A Tour? leg in Europe. She was spotted
attending over 6 Drake shows through the Old Continent. The bars, “Cause
your serious has just been not that serious / Got me on tour acting
like I’m not that curious / Ignoring all the p**** that's thrown at me,”
easily fit the status of his relationship with RiRi year and a half
ago.
