“I Went Nude To Remind Nigerians That They Are Uncivilized” – Brymo

Reacting to the controversy surrounding the content of the recently released video for his song, Heya, Brymo said he went nude to remind Nigerians that they are uncivilized.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the singer shed light on why he took that step.

“The song is an expression of my environment. I like to paint as much as I can and I think that most of us are bush people, even though we live in cities. The video portrayed a bush man living in the city. If you look around, you wouldn’t see much evidence of civilisation. We did not create most of the things that we use in this country and that’s not good. We need to think, he stated.”

Reacting to claims that his nudity in the video was just a publicity stunt to draw attention to the song, Brymo said;

“Even if it’s a publicity stunt, is there anything wrong with that? Singers spend a lot of time and energy in the studio. So is there anything absurd in them drawing some attention to their songs?”

On whether he feels underrated in the country, he said;

“No, I am not. People are used to a system and if you want to change them, you have to do it slowly. My albums are doing well and we found that most people, who download my music are in Europe and America. Right now, I have no complaints.”

Dismissing claims that he doesn’t perform at top concerts in the industry anymore, Brymo said;

“I only perform at top shows. Just this week, I have had two events. I will also be performing today (Sunday) as well. Generally, I get a lot of love in Africa, and as for the people who say they haven’t seen me perform on big stages lately, they are most likely looking in the wrong places. As much as I’m looking at having an international career, Africa will always be my root. I was once signed to an American company, EGM, and I released an album with them but things didn’t go as planned and we went our separate ways.”

African Richest Man Aliko Dangote’s Daughter Fatima Dangote and Jamil Abubakar shut down Lagos a week ago with their wedding that had 6 parts which held in Abuja, Kano and Lagos, a man criticised the lavish wedding on social media saying Bill gates who have spent billions on immunisation won’t stage such a big wedding.

An Instagram user, with username @iamkay_dee criticized the lavish, society wedding of Fatima Dangote.

He said Bill Gates who has spent billions on immunization would not stage such a big wedding for any of his children.

Comedian Ali Baba in a lengthy post on Instagram had a few advice for the man.

You see how Nigerians are? When someone spends to develop the society, even the moments he wants to spend on his family, he will be questioned. When Aliko donated a whole Department of Business Administration this guy did not notice. When he created employment across the country, this one did not notice.

When he was engaged in charity work across the country, this one didn’t notice… But just to give his daughter a befitting wedding, that was practically funded by goodwill of friends and associates, ITS now being compared to what he could have done with the money. Isn’t that how we all are. And now it’s a matter of “#NigerianCelebrieties & Hypocrisy”. I had gone to see his page and it was private. You see, when it comes to things like this, the Nigerian celebrity is the problem.

The person who supplied drinks should have said “Noooooo…. We can not be part of this. Donate the money tho charity”. How about the event venue? They should have turned it down. Oh I forgot. The event planner should have said “Alhaji haba manna! No we can not let you spend this when there are people in hospitals”… the cake makers, make up artistes and all the vendors who worked on the project should have turned it down.

And since they didn’t do that, it makes them HYPOCRITES. Wow! You see, that you are educated doesnt mean that you are smart. This same person who is talking still attends a church where the pastor takes tithes from corrupt politicians. Looters and people who got rich by all means. But people who offer their genuine services are HYPOCRITES. That’s why you hear things like why did so so and so artistes go perform at a politicians event. But the facecaps, billboards, newspaper adverts, television commercials and radio jingles all in the air and across the country.

Some of these people who are asking for the blood of the artistes are working in banks that are giving unsecured loans for the politician’s campaign. So what’s the crime of Nigerian Celebrities? For providing services that that were born to provide. One lady said something in that same wavelength last year… only for me to check her page and she is a cabin crew. Has her airline refused to fly politicians?

Tuface Blasts Buhari Over Nigerian Govt’s Poor Response To Herdsmen, Boko Haram Attacks

Tuface, has expressed displeasure at the seeming inability of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to secure lives of Nigerians against the destructive activities of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen.

Tuface is from Benue State, which is one of the flashpoints of the herdsmen/farmers’ clashes. He told Punch newspaper that from all indications, the government was not doing much about the situation except to always, ‘condemn the killings.’

“The Federal Government is not doing anything at all, nothing has been done and as we speak, the herdsmen can attack anytime anyday. They would move on then the Federal Government would condemn the killing; that is all they do, to condemn the killing but nothing is being done.

“I feel terrible when I read about the senseless killings that daily take place in Benue. It is not about my state alone. It happens in other states as well and I sympathise with Nigerians. These people are just being lawless and the law enforcement agencies are doing nothing about it.

“As far as I can see, I have not seen any serious effort to address this issue. Nigerians are tired and angry but because we are peace-loving, that is why Nigeria has not exploded and that is what these men are taking for granted.

They know we would not do anything. Their case is like that of a man that keeps stepping on the tail of a tiger; one day he would see the trouble he is looking for,” he said.

He also said that he agreed with his state governor, Samuel Ortom, who had urged his people to defend themselves because they cannot continue to sit down while the herdsmen continue to plunge families into sorrow.

“I agree that the people should arm themselves against future attacks because if your people are being killed and the government is not doing anything, you would not sit in one place like a sitting duck.

You would have to arm yourself so that you would not fall victim to the attacks again. It is the only logical thing to do,” the singer said.

He further condemned the government for suggesting the idea of amnesty for the members of the Boko Haram. To him, that is an admission of defeat by the government.

“There is something that I do not understand, there are so many Nigerians who have graduated from school and they are finding it difficult to make a living; they are trying to make a positive impact but the government is not helping but it is those who kill and maim their fellow men that the government wants to grant amnesty, it just does not make sense.

“It is a very shameful situation and it means that the government has accepted defeat. They are sending a clear message that they cannot fish out the culprits. It just shows that they have accepted defeat. There is no other logical explanation,” he said.

Davido Reveals Why He Had To Lie To Eko Hotel About The Number Of People Attending His 30 Billion Concert

Afropop star, Davido said the turnout for his 30 Billion Concert was incredible such that the organizers had to mislead the venue owners about the expected number of people.

The concert took place in December 2017 at the EKO Hotel & Suites, Lagos was packed beyond capacity where several Nigerian entertainers, including Wizkid, D’banj, and 2baba Idibia, performed at the concert.

In an interview with HipTV, Davido said:-

“That day was a crazy day for me. I remember waking up and we were looking at ticket sales like how are we going to tell EKO Hotel all these people are coming.

“We had to lie to them about the number of people that bought tickets because the limit of EKO Hotel was like 6,000 and we had over 10,000 people there.”

The FIA crooner further revealed the concert was almost called off over the death of his friends.

In October 2017, the 25-year-old singer was accused of being complicit in the deaths of his friends, Tagbo Umeike and DJ Olu.

The incidents threatened to put a damper on his concert, but it proceeded as scheduled.

“This is a concert that we almost called off when I lost my friends,” he said.

“We almost called off the concert because we didn’t think we had the strength or even a good public perception of us at that time. So I was just like ‘I think we should just call it off’.

Such was the case on Tuesday, March 27, at Banky W’s residence. Bankole Wellington who turned 37-year-old staged an in-house birthday party and his close friends were there to celebrate his new age.
